Kirsty Exner

Kirsty is a physiotherapist with over 15 years of experience and the founder of Blue Velvet Health in Rossland. Known for her expertise in functional fitness and hands-on, holistic care, she’s completed advanced training in techniques like Dry Needling, Myofascial Release, ELDOA, DNS, and more. Her approach is thorough, empowering clients to move and feel their best.

A former big mountain freeride athlete, Kirsty competed on the World Freeskiing Tour—earning multiple podiums, including two silver medals at the Worlds in Alaska—and has competed in Enduro, XC, and DH mountain bike races. When she's not in the clinic, she's chasing peaks, riding trails, or adventuring with her family.

Julia O’Donoghue

Julia is a CanFitPro certified personal trainer with 8 years of experience and over a decade in the fitness industry. From Montreal, her passion for movement began during her professional theatre studies at Dawson College. She started her career in a gym focused on strength and conditioning but later shifted to mobility, calisthenics, and intuitive movement. Julia believes fitness should enhance abilities while nurturing the body. Her goal is to empower individuals to live long, active lives through personalized coaching or group fitness classes.

Eva Gifford

Eva is a renowned chiropractor known for her dedication and expertise. An accomplished long-distance runner, she successfully led her winter RunFit program. Now, she's excited to launch an enhanced session focused on tailored training to boost your running skills and summer sports performance while keeping you injury-free! She'll offer two fantastic classes:

Katie Spittlehouse

Katie is new to the Velvet team but truly needs no formal introduction. She is a very accomplished and highly-revered professional mountain bike racer, boasting podium finishes in nearly every race she has competed in throughout her impressive career on not only the National stage but also on the World stage in the Enduro World Series. In 2016, she was the Canadian Enduro National Champion as well as many Canadian National Enduro Series podiums.

Additionally, she has served as the Coach for the prestigious Canadian Paralympic Alpine Ski team from 2020-2024, where she also took on the role of their Strength and Conditioning specialist through the ISSA. This background means that she comes to us with an exceptionally high calibre of training experience and performance expertise, making her a valuable asset to our team.

Jenna Lamont

Jenna Lamont is a dedicated fitness and yoga instructor with over 10 years of experience in building strength and confidence. She began her journey in 2005 with certifications in Fitness Theory and Group Training in Australia, followed by a 200-hour Yoga Certification in 2014. In 2015, she furthered her skills with Group Fitness Training in Vancouver. Jenna has since earned certifications in Yoga Nidra, Weight Training, and Personal Training, emphasizing strength, mindfulness, and relaxation. She also holds a diploma in Holistic Nutrition, completed in 2008, which complements her wellness approach. Jenna combines fitness and yoga to create inclusive experiences that empower clients, fostering community and promoting mental health. She strives to make everyone feel welcome and confident on their journey.

Melanie is an exciting new addition to the Velvet team, but she is certainly not new to the world of fitness and sport! With nearly 30 years of experience under her belt, she has been teaching a plethora of different styles of fitness classes, showcasing her extensive knowledge base and vast expertise in the field. Not only has she competed in numerous long-distance bike races across the globe, bringing her competitive spirit to different terrains, but she is also a successful adventure journalist, sharing her thrilling experiences and insights with others.

Lila Rasa Brown

Lila is an exceptionally talented Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner, an insightful Evolutionary Astrologer, and a dedicated yoga teacher with over 20 years of hands-on experience in these profound fields. Lila is dedicated to the well-being of her clients on every level. She loves weaving together the esoteric with the modern to facilitate experiences of alchemy that create conscious embodied living. One of her great joys is to guide people into a space of true transformation, encouraging them to discover, honor, and gracefully reveal their most authentic nature through the practices of Chinese Medicine, Evolutionary Astrology, yoga, & meditation, so they feel empowered to live from this inspired place in the world.

Not only does she come with a wealth of knowledge and expertise, but she is also one of the most insightful, intuitive, magical, and spiritually attuned individuals I have ever encountered in my journey. Kaleigh Hole

Kaleigh Hole, a Certified Pedorthist from a small Manitoba town, has spent 7 years in her field. She holds a Kinesiology degree and a Pedorthics Diploma from Western University. Kaleigh has opened "Sole to Summit Orthotics" in Rossland, focusing on biomechanical assessments, gait analysis, custom foot orthotics, knee braces, and compression socks.

She has a competitive background in figure skating, having been part of the National Team, and now coaches the Rossland Figure Skating Club. In her spare time, Kaleigh enjoys the British Columbia lifestyle and is eager to help you stay active and reach your goals!

Kathryn Lord

Kathryn graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 1990 and has since practiced as a full-time RMT, amassing 35 years of experience. She moved to Rossland in 2017 after living in Whistler. Her passion for knowledge led her to obtain a Bachelor of Chiropractic and a Bachelor of Clinical Science in Melbourne, Australia, in 2003.

Kathryn specializes in Swedish massage, joint mobilization, sports massage, and deep tissue therapy, focusing on postural issues, myofascial techniques, and sports injuries. She has worked with various sports teams, including the Fijian rugby team, BFC football players, professional skiers and snowboarders, the US Alpine team, and more. Outside of work, Kathryn enjoys traveling, hiking, skiing, biking, and walking her dogs.

Kali Reglin

Kali D. Reglin, D.O.M.P, graduated from the 5-year Osteopathy program at the Canadian School of Osteopathy, Vancouver, in 2022. She is a member of OsteopathyBC and transitioned from a 10-year RMT career to focus on osteopathy in January 2024. Her treatment includes assessments, various techniques, and individualized home care suggestions. Patients can expect to uncover pain causes and a tailored recovery approach using Myofascial Release, Craniosacral Therapy, and Visceral Manipulation. Kali engages with all body systems to identify dysfunction roots and effective treatment tools, aiming to realign physical health and facilitate healing.
